When it comes to outdoor summertime concerts, LA doesn’t skimp. Great venues from parks to shopping centers are setting up the stages and bringing you some fantastic free concerts all over the city.
Here is a roundup of some of the best free concerts in LA this summer. They are not presented in any particular order of which concert series we think is best. Most are ongoing through the summer. When it is just one day, the date is marked at the beginning of that entry.
1. Concerts on the Green At Valley Cultural Center, Woodland Hills

June 10 – Aug 19. The 41 Annual Free Concerts on the Green are held at the Lou Bradlow Pavilion in Warner Park in Woodland Hills. Most concerts are held on Sunday afternoons 5:30 – 8:00 PM. For more info visit the Woodland Hills Concerts on the Green Website

2. West Hollywood Summer Sounds Concert Series
WEHO’s 2018 Summer Sounds Free Outdoor Concert Series takes place on Sundays at Plummer Park and King’s Road Park in West Hollywood. All concerts are free and start at 5:00 PM.

3. 2018 Summer Concert Series in the South Bay
This concert series is a combined effort of the cities of Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and El Segundo. All of the beach cities are offering a full music schedule.

4. Sunset Concerts at the Skirball
The Skirball is presenting its 22 season of Sunset Concerts. Concerts are free and begin at 8:00 PM but visitors are encouraged to come early and enjoy dining and drinks at Zeidler’s Cart and check out the exhibitions.
Street parking is prohibited. Parking in the lot is $10.00, cash only.

5. Pershing Square Summer Concert Series

From July 14 – August 19 Pershing Square is presenting a series of lunch time concerts on Wednesdays, rock concerts and Thursday and Saturday nights and films on Friday nights.

6. NoHo Summer Nights
NoHo Summer Nights is an 8 week concert series held at North Hollywood Park on the corner of Magnolia and Tujunga.
Admission is free. Parking is available at the recreation centers lots, areas around the park and the North Hollywood Metro Station.
All concerts begin at 7:00 PM.

7. Jazz at LACMA
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is presenting Jazz at LACMA, a celebration of LA’s finest jazz musicians.

8. MOCA Music
This concert series is held at both MOCA Grand Avenue and The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. There will be food trucks, drinks and regular museum programming.

9. Marina Del Rey Summer Concert Series at Burton Chace Park
The Marina del Rey Free Summer Concert Series couldn’t be at a better location. At the 10 acre Burton Chace Park you are surrounded by water, yachts and sailboats on three sides.
On alternating Thursdays there are classical and opera permances. On alternating Saturdays there are pop music groups including alt-rock, indie an folk.

10. Happy Sundays Festival in Long Beach
Sunday August 26th
This is a free music festival taking place along a 1.5 mile stretch of Anaheim Street and encompassing 8 venues with Big Red Bus Shuttles to get you around.
No admission fees, the music starts at noon.

11. KCRW Summer Nights

12. Levitt Pavillion at MacArthur Park Concerts
Each summer 50 outdoor summer concerts are presented at the Levitt Pavilion in MacArthur Park. That’s a lot of music folks!

13. Pasadena Pavilion Summer Concert Series
The annual concert series is presented under the stars at the historic Memorial Park bank shell in the heart of Old Pasadena.

14. The Grove Summer Concert Series
The Grove’s summer concerts begin on July 25 usually in the evening. Head on out to The Grove for shopping and dining, then take in a free concert before heading home!

15. Grand Performances at California Plaza

Enjoy live music at one of the most stunning locations in downtown Los Angeles. Live music is on most Fri, Sat and/or Sunday nights. The venue also features a number of other type events during the summer months as well. Make it a fun old time experience by taking the Angels Flight Railway up to the Plaza.

16. Concerts at Grand Park
Grand Park is another totally awesome place in downtown LA. It has a full calendar of summer events including music. You can also have some fun by kicking off your shoes and running through the splash pad at the fountain on the west end.

17. Off the 405 at the Getty Concerts

This is the Getty Center’s annual outdoor summer concert series.

19. Eagle Rock Music Festival

20. Abbot Kinney Festival
September 30th, 10 am – 6 pm
For the 34th year in a row Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice is hosting the “coolest block party in America.” There are 4 music stages, 300 vendors, kids rides and games, beer gardens and more. And admission is free!
