Best Places to See Snow in Los Angeles for Christmas
Yes, it really does snow in Los Angeles. Usually around Christmas time and the holiday season. And for some reason, the snow flurries happen in the same places night after night.
If you are a California transplant and missing the snow that accompanies Christmas in so much of the world – or if you have simply wondered what that white stuff is like that you see in photos of other parts of the world, then here is a list of places you can find some snow in LA.
Where To Find Snow In Los Angeles
The Grove at Farmers Market
Every night at 7 pm and 8 pm snow falls at The Grove. It is also one of the most beautiful open space shopping malls to be found… with the possible exception of The Americana at Brand which we cover next. Count on a top notch Holiday, Christmas atmosphere. The entire shopping mall is illuminated in beautiful Christmas lights and decor. There’s a plastic Santa on a sleigh pulled by reindeer taking flight near the fountain. The Grove’s Christmas tree soars to 100 feet, taller than those at Grand Park and the Music Center in Downtown. The snowfall is the perfect finishing touch to put you in the holiday spirit.
Oh, and did we mention The Grove and the adjacent Original Farmer’s Market both make excellent places to do some Christmas shopping.

The Americana at Brand
Santa’s workshop sits beside the pond with the “dancing fountain” (there is also a dancing fountain at The Grove) and in this area of the open space mall called “The Green” snow falls every night at 7 pm and 8 pm. Snow and the giant bows and lights that adorn the old fashioned street light poles transfer it into a winter wonderland.
Nothing was skimped on when it came to making the Americana one of the most beautiful Christmas displays in Los Angeles. There is also a full lineup of holiday events including singers, drummers and or course Santa.
