Fisherman’s Village, a Top LA Tourist Attraction
Fisherman’s Village is a waterfront mall, commercial boat dock and a top Los Angeles tourist attraction located in Marina Del Rey. It’s been said there is no better place to experience Los Angeles than in Fisherman’s Village.

We agree. Any activity that involves playing in or near the ocean can be done at Fisherman’s Village: jet skiing, parasailing, yachting, fishing cruises, dinner cruises, boat rentals, bicycle rentals, and more. And if you can’t get enough of the ocean, there’s a ferry service to Catalina Island.
Fisherman’s Village was constructed to resemble a New England fishing village. Brightly colored, rustic shops and restaurants line the waterfront promenade on the land side. On the water side you are treated to breathtaking views of the largest man made marina in the United States complete with over 5000 boats.
There is also live music under the light house for several hours each day. Concert times are 1pm – 4pm, or 2pm – 5pm during daylight savings. Musical genres are varied.
From March to September you can see up to 100 sailboats racing toward the finish line at the California Yacht Club’s Sunset Series regatta. The regatta happens every Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm.
A partial list of fun things to do at Fisherman’s Village:

Dining: there are several restaurants offering waterfront dining, and also several that offer quick gourmet meals and snacks. There are also tables near the lighthouse for outdoor eating.
Harbor Cruises: Tiki Mermaid Charters and Hornblower Cruises offer fully catered and licensed private party harbor cruises and public cruises on weekends.
Boat Rentals: power boats, sailboats, electric boats and kayaks can be rented any day of the week by the hour or by the day.
Bicycling: Bike rentals are available. The marina connects to over 26 miles of coastal bike trails.
Fishing: Fishing excursions are available from a couple companies on the docks.
Special Events at Fisherman’s Village
Marina Del Rey is a special place to be during the holidays.
- On Independence Day (July 4th) beautiful fireworks are set off over the water.
- The Marina Del Rey Holiday Boat Parade happens in the early part of December each year where up to 100 boats decorated as Christmas parade floats parade around the water. It is a particularly beautiful Christmas parade due to the reflections of the Christmas lights on the boats in the bay. The event is kicked off with a fireworks display over the marina.
- On New Years Eve, Marina Del Rey has two fireworks displays. One at about 9:00 pm and another at the stroke of midnight.
- The nearby Burton Chace Park on the marina is bustling with holiday events all through the month of December including live music, a “snow day” and food trucks
