The Beverly Wilshire Hotel has been used as a location in a number of films and hosted a number of high profile celebrity guests.None have defined it as much as when Julia Roberts and Richard Gere acted out many scenes of the movie, Pretty Woman in the posh hotel just across from Rodeo Drive.

Thanks to the success of the movie, many locals and guests refer to it as The Pretty Woman Hotel.  And the Beverly Wilshire Beverly Hills has created an over the top, romantic hotel experience called Pretty Woman for a Day.  They pull out all the stops to make you feel you are starring in your own version of Pretty Woman, or at least enjoying the same romance and excesses Julia Roberts was treated to in the movie.

The package includes accommodations in one of the top specialty suites and a tour of Rodeo Drive’s most famous fashion houses with your own personal wardrobe consultant and stylist.  You are also treated to a dining experience at The Blvd restaurant in the hotel and a a romantic dinner for two in your suite.  You’ll enjoy massages, hand drawn baths and round trip transportation in a Mercedes sedan.

I should note here that I’m not affiliated with the hotel and have not been paid to write this post.  However, I have become well acquainted with the hotel due to a number of celebrity clients I photograph that want to have their pictures dining out on the sidewalk tables in front of the hotel (this is where Julia Roberts and Richard Gere dined in the movie Pretty Woman).  I became aware of the Pretty Woman for a Day experience and thought it was something I should share with my readers.

Speaking of celebrities, some noteworthy celebrities that have stayed at the famous hotel are: Elvis Presley, Warren Beatty, John Lennon (who lived there several months), Barack Obama, the Dalai Lama, Erick Clapton, Elton John, Michael Douglas, Farrah Fawcett, Bette Midler, Dustin Hoffman, Walter Matthau and Al Pacino.  So if celebrity spotting is on your list of things to do while you are visiting Los Angeles, staying at the Beverly Wilshire might help you in your quest.

We probably don’t need to tell you this, but the fabulous Rodeo Drive is just across the street.  So plan on spending some time mingling with the rich and famous in the luxury stores and restaurants along Rodeo and the adjacent streets!  Don’t forget to look down at the sidewalk to see the plaques honoring the top fashion icons on the Beverly Hills Walk of Style.  It’s on the section of Rodeo Drive nearest the hotel.  The beginning of it is marked by the statue of the torso of a nude woman by artist Robert Graham.
