The annual Hollywood Christmas Parade is approaching to signal the arrival of the holiday season in a spectacular and beautiful way.
Note: The 2019 Hollywood Christmas Parade will begin at 5:00 pm on December 1, 2019.
The 2019 Hollywood Christmas Parade was presided over by Grand Marshal Mario Lopez and hosted by a star studded celebrity cast including: Montel Williams, Erik Estrada, Laura McKenzie, Dean Cain, and Elizabeth Stanton. Last year a large number of celebrity cars also showed up for the fun including the Rockford Files Firebird, the famous DeLorean from Back to the Future, the old truck from The Beverly Hillbillies, the Ford Torino from Starsky and Hutch and so many more. We’re sure they will be making a re-appearance for 2019.
Ceremonies begin on Hollywood Blvd In the area by LaBrea and Highland where the grandstands are located. It will move east on Hollywood Blvd to Vine St where it will head south to Sunset Blvd and travel west to LaBrea. Of course these streets and all cross streets in the vicinity will be closed to automobile traffic.
Last year the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments kicked off the procession and put on quite a show. Then the crowd was treated to marching bands, performers, the casts of several television shows and stories tall balloons of Gumby, the Cat in the Hat and more favorites.
I can’t help but watch this parade and marvel at how many people work hard for months to prepare for this event. Many many thanks to all that did so! It is no wonder it’s a favorite Christmas event!
