Christmas is a special time of year for so many reasons.  So when it’s time to go out for dinner and drinks, whether that be for date night or a break when you’re out doing your Christmas shopping, shouldn’t the cocktail you sip be a little special and Christmasy?

We think it should be, so we rounded up five restaurants with special Christmas cocktails for you to enjoy.

1. Poppy and Rose

Cabby Hot Chocolate

If you’ve been bargain hunting for items on Santa’s list in the LA Fashion District or searching for perfect floral arrangements for your Christmas party in the Flower District, then swing by to Poppy + Rose to warm up with their Cabby Hot Chocolate served up special for Christmas shoppers.  This soul warming cocktail contains Ghiradelli’s hot chocolate, milk and rabble cabernet.  It’s the perfect cocktail for keeping warm and getting in the Christmas spirit.

Be sure to order some food too!  Chef Michael Reed prepares cult-brunch offerings as well as classic American diner fare.

2.   Madre

Madre is a restaurant and mezcaleria* with locations in Culver City and Torrance that brings innovative cocktails using mescal and agave spirits.  Bar manager uses Oaxaca flavors and integrates their over 420 collection of mescal into Madre’s hand-crafted cocktails

3. Salazar

Fool’s Gold

Salazar is a restaurant and bar located in Frogtown along the Los Angeles River.  Executive Chef Jonathan Aviles specializes in Sonoran style BBQ, bringing elevated Mexican mesquite grilled dishes to the eastside. Paired with Bar Manager Adan Maldonado’s refreshing take on flavorful cocktails.

4. Prank

Prank is DTLA’s first and only walk-up bar in DTLA’s most upcoming neighborhood: South Park. In addition to a menu of organic, antibiotic-and hormone-free, non-GMO bar food, Prank is also the first to incorporate terpenes into select cocktails.  For the holidays they have created a delicious Mexican Hot Chocolate with tequila, coffee brew liqueur, oat milk, cocoa and cayenne topped with whipped cream to keep you warm and merry!

5. The Cliffdiver

Hibiscus Mojito

The Cliffdiver’s bar is simple and classic. Cervezas, margaritas, frozé, and a vast selection of mezcal and tequila will serve as the foundation, offered at an accessible price point.  The Cliffdiver’s drinks are cravable and quenching and they have created two special cocktails to keep you feeling in the Christmas spirits while you enjoy the refreshing atmosphere of the Malibu beach.
