Miceli’s Restaurant in Hollywood: Enjoy a Serenade While You Dine
If your trip to visit Hollywood includes that sweet someone you would like to do something special for, consider dining at Miceli’s.
Why?
Well, there are a lot of reasons, but the main one is that true to the old world Italian tradition, the waiters at Miceli’s will serenade you with Italian arias, musical show tunes and classical songs while you dine. So pick a well known movie with that special song you want your significant other to hear and book your reservation.
Miceli’s is the first Italian restaurant to be established in Hollywood. It dates back to 1949 when Carmen and Sylvia Miceli along with their brothers and sisters opened Miceli’s Pizzaria.
As Hollywood’s first pizza house they used family recipes brought from Sicily. Miceli’s soon had people lined up and down the block, savoring their opportunity to feast with the Miceli family. Somewhere along the line it evolved from being a pizzeria to a restaurant.
It would be difficult to find a restaurant in Hollywood that didn’t boost a celebrity clientele. Miceli’s is no exception. Distinguished guests include JFK and Richard Nixon and the Beatles to today’s stars like Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, and Julia Roberts.
The decor is so authentic that you will feel you have stepped back into old world Italy. And the menu is one of the most reasonably priced to be found anywhere in Hollywood. Most items I saw on the menu were available for between $10 and $20. Not bad!
It’s located at 1646 N. Las Palmas Ave on the Hollywood Walk of Fame… just across the street from the famous Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre. If your travel plans to Los Angeles are taking you toward Universal Studios instead, they have another location at 3655 Cahuenga Blvd W. in Universal City. They do offer delivery, but then you are missing out on the whole experience!
For more info or to reserve a table visit the Miceli’s website.
