A music lovers visit to Los Angeles needs to include a visit to the Morrison Hotel Gallery just off of Sunset Strip. The gallery contains the finest and most unique collection of music photography in the world.
The gallery was founded in 2001 by a former record label executive, Peter Blachley, music industry pro Richard Horowitz and the famous music photographer, Henry Diltz. Diltz is known among other things as the photographer that created the iconic album cover photo for the Doors album Morrison Hotel.
The Morrison Hotel Gallery represents 125 of the worlds greatest music photographers and offers both limited editions and open editions of their work.
In Los Angeles, the Morrison Hotel Gallery is co-owned by Timothy White, one of the most sought after celebrity photographers in the industry and Henry Diltz, famous for capturing a staggering number of the most incredible moments in music history. The Los Angeles gallery is located in the lobby of the Sunset Marquis Hotel just off of Sunset Blvd. The gallery has also curated the music photography collection throughout the hotel.
It’s perfectly situated just off of Sunset Strip in the section where the legendary rock clubs (Whisky A Go Go, The Viper Room, The Roxy, The Rainbow Room) are that launched the careers of the iconic rock music legends whose portraits hang in the gallery.
