Santa Monica Attractions: Palisades Park
If you are visiting LA, Palisades Park is a must see on you list. Located north of the famous Santa Monica Pier on Ocean Avenue it offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Santa Monica Bay and the Pacific Ocean to be found.The Pier is also in view to the south and at night the lights of the Pacific Park amusement park on the pier are beautiful.
The park is a very relaxed area to get away from the traffic, noise and congestion of Los Angeles. A pedestrian path runs the length of the park along the fence. Angle parking on the street on Ocean Ave the length of the park make it one of the easier places to find parking in Los Angeles. That is if it is not a weekend or a holiday.
If you park near the south end of the park, it is an easy walk down to the Santa Monica Pier where you can enjoy the restaurants, shops, vendors and amusement park. You can also check out the International Chess Park, the Original Muscle Beach, Tongva Park and the Third Street Promenade all within walking distance.
