The Capitol Records Christmas Tree

Since 1958 the lighting of the Christmas Tree atop the Capitol Records Building has been a signal to Angelenos that the Christmas Season has arrived.  That and the annual Hollywood Christmas Parade that happens right after Thanksgiving each year.

As iconic as the Capitol Records building itself, the Capitol Records Christmas Tree was the first of its kind.  It was designed by Ollsen Lighting and has over 4,373 25 watt bulbs.

We missed adding this Christmas tree to our Where to See Christmas Trees in Los Angeles post, but we will be updating the post soon with some new trees we have remembered.  This Capitol Records Christmas Tree photo was taken during the Hollywood Christmas Parade.
