The Hollywood Christmas Parade

Everyone loves a parade and the Hollywood Christmas Parade is one of the most spectacular Christmas parades to be seen. And it has been for almost a century!

Parking is always tricky to find in that part of town and it will be worse during the parade.  We strongly recommend taking a Lyft, Uber or the Metro Red Line (be SURE to board the RED line and not the Purple, the colors are very similar on the trains).  Actually the Metro is probably you best option as the Ubers will most likely have trouble with traffic.  There are Metro stops on Hollywood and Vine, which is the eastern edge of the parade route and at Hollywood Highland, the starting point for the parade. Our post on Parking and Metro Stops on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will help you with both choices, but be advised any street parking recommendations we make in the article will not apply during the parade.

Now in its 87th year, the parade will feature floats, balloons, bands, equestrians and celebrities.  Grandstands with reserved seating are available where the route begins at Hollywood and Orange (near the Hollywood Highland Mall, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre) works east on Hollywood Blvd to Vine Street where it turns south and then works its way west back to Orange Street on Sunset Blvd.  The reserved seats in the grandstands must be purchased for between $32.50 and $85, but free curbside seating is also available and you can stake out a vantage spot anywhere along the route.

The Hollywood Christmas Parade starts at 5:00 PM on December 1, 2019.  But get there early to secure a good spot.
