The Last Bookstore

LA Bookstore

When you are in downtown LA, be sure to make it a point to stop by The Last Bookstore located at 453 S Spring St on the ground floor.  It is a must on your things to see and do in Los Angeles.

The space is huge and an experience all into itself.  I need to round up my other photos of this place.  The books themselves are arranged into works of art.  Oh, you will be asked to leave your bags with the attendant at the door to help prevent shoplifting. The attendants are good about making sure you don’t forget them on the way out!

It is the largest bookstore in California and the most talked about.  And if you ever thought the printed book has gone the way of the dinosaur, a few minutes in The Last Bookstore will disabuse you of that idea.

It contains a vast selection of new, used and rare books.  It also has tens of thousands of vinyl records, another rarity.  The mezzazine level has book nooks, artsy shops and artist spaces.

Plan on spending some time here.  There is so much to look at and explore!
